Current Research Interests

Formosan subterranean termite infests wood in services and live trees, causing great economic damages.  I focus my research on both applied and fundamental aspects of the biology, behavior and management of this termite species with the ultimate goal of finding novel and efficient ways of management.

Currently, my research emphasis is on the physiological and behavioral mechanisms of caste regulation of Formosan subterranean termite.   I also work on the discovery of safer and environmental friendly pesticides from secondary plant compounds for pest management.
