Dr. Grodner is the LSU AgCenter Pesticide Coordinator. She directs the Pesticide Safety Education Program and conducts and speaks at workshops for commercial pesticide applicators. These workshops or conferences are designed so that the commercial applicators will be able to become certified applicators and are able to maintain their certification. As part of this program she keeps other LSU AgCenter scientists aware of the rules & regulations, both state and federal, which affect the use of pesticides. She also works with the County Agents in their pesticide safety education programs for private applicators. She produces educational aids used in these programs and for keeping applicators aware of all the rules and regulations regarding pesticide application in Louisiana. She works with other AgCenter scientists to develop educational material in the form of study guides and fact sheets concerning the safe and effective use of pesticides. Dr. Grodner is also the IR 4 Liaison for Louisiana and the Project Manager for Louisiana with the Southern Region Pest Management Center. As project manager she has directed the development of crop profiles for various commodities and the Louisiana component of the Strategic Plan for Cotton Pest Management in the Mid-South Cotton Production Region and Strategic Plan for Rice Pest Management in the Mid-South Rice Production Region. She is also a lecturer at the Southern Region Pesticide Safety Education Center at North Carolina State University. |
